During my final semester in college, my project group was announced as the Cotton Inc. award winner for our Line Development Studio course.

Miles & Company was developed during a group project in Line Development Studio, a Fashion course offered at VCUArts. During our conduction of secondary research, it was discovered that the plus-size, or big and tall, menswear market was underserved and lacking in product availability. This is what initially inspired Miles & Company to fill this niche demand.

Our Mission

Our mission is to fill the plus market with professional, contemporary collections that provide superior quality and fit for every single body type. With a wide range of sizes, Miles & Company looks to fill every consumer's need to help build up their own personalized wardrobe. Miles & Company provides our customers with a personal experience that doesn’t stray too far from the familiarity of shopping for classic menswear brands. However, unlike Miles & Company’s competitors, we provide actual inclusivity. What sets Miles & Company apart from our competitors is our mission to provide high quality, accessible clothing to plus size men. There is still a large number of consumers who do not fit into our competitor’s “plus” or “inclusive” sizing. Miles & Company is addressing this lack of sizing in menswear, as well as the lack of diversity in styles in the menswear category. By designing a line that leans away from streetwear, Miles & Company will easily reach the professional and contemporary space within the menswear market that needs to be expanded upon the most.

Partnerships & Initiatives

  • We believe at M&Co that taking care of your mind is just as important as physical health.

    Our Talkspace Partnership is an online mental health service & other social initiatives because we want to provide this option for our most loyal clients

    Our goal is to encourage taking care of one’s health in order to become their best possible self; clients will receive a one-time membership that gives the user access to one free talk space session when they sign up for our loyalty program

  • Cottonworks technologies are featured in our products to give our clients an elevated experience with our garments.

    PUREPRESS cotton technology that will be applied to our poplin wovens. PUREPRESS improves a garment’s resistance to wrinkling and abrasion.

    TransDRY cotton technology will be applied to our jersey knit t-shirt. TransDRY is designed to keep the wearer cooler and to allow the garment to dry faster. Making our t-shirt one that can be worn all day for different activities.

    Storm cotton technology is used on all of our outerwear garments. Storm cotton technology is a water-repellent finish that protects from the weather while maintaining the natural breathability of cotton.

    Natural Stretch technology will also be applied to our denim pants and shorts. This finish keeps the elasticity in the garment to make it more comfortable for all wearers.

The Miles & Company Community

  • The Sims is a social simulation video game that allows players to simulate their ideal life. Which Miles and Company is very excited to be a part of. The expansion pack includes clothing articles from the Origin collection and a digitalized, in-game version of our Richmond flagship store and lounge.

  • We plan to release a Discord server where our brand representatives and clients can stay updated on new collections, our newsletter, pop-up events, new brick-and-mortar openings, and seasonal sales

    Our Discord will operate as a community space that brings everyone together, and keeps our clientele interacting with our brand

    In this space we can further connect with our clients and partners, allowing us to strengthen those relationships

  • Join our loyalty program!

    To keep our clients connected, Miles and Co. will send out weekly newsletters. The list of recipients will be obtained through a loyalty program on our website and in-store where they have the choice to opt-in or out. The newsletters will include information including trend watches, and look books to give our clients inspiration and upcoming events in the surrounding cities of the brick-and-mortar store they are clients at. Upcoming event examples would be chess tournaments, brewery tours, and concerts.

    Other information included will be links to our website showcasing sales, new items, and general information about the company.
